The Dog Stop® is looking for an experienced, hands-on Dog Care Manager to join our dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and retail location in Spring, TX! This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, physically active environment and is passionate about providing safe, structured, and exceptional care for dogs.
This is a full-time position averaging 34–38 hours per week.
As Dog Care Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our playgroups and back-of-house team, ensuring the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and care. You will lead by example, actively working alongside your team while managing staff, monitoring dog behavior, and maintaining a safe and positive environment for both dogs and employees.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on role. Candidates must be comfortable being on their feet for the entire shift and actively engaged in all aspects of dog care and facility operations.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure the safety, health, and happiness of all canine guests at all times
- Supervise and manage structured dog playgroups, ensuring safe and appropriate interactions
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of dog handlers (canine companions)
- Monitor dog behavior, identify play styles, and intervene proactively when needed
- Oversee back-of-house operations, including cleaning, feeding, and daily care routines
- Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation protocols consistently
- Train team members on company policies and dog handling best practices
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability and care
- Deliver an exceptional experience for both dogs and their owners
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and be actively moving for 6–10+ hours per shift
- Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and cleaning throughout the day
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced, and high-energy environment
- Quick decision-making and problem-solving in real-time situations involving dog safety
What We’re Looking For
- Previous management or leadership experience (required)
- Hands-on dog handling experience in a daycare, boarding, or similar setting (required)
- Strong understanding of dog behavior and group play dynamics
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays

Pay: $14–$17 per hour, based on experience
